2014 ~ Week 43

We experienced the best Fall has to offer last weekend:  Pumpkin pickin', Blue Ridge mountains, and fresh apples from the orchard.

We made our first trip to Sky Top, an apple orchard in Flat Rock, NC.  We didn't realize until we arrived that the "U-Pick" season had already ended, so we didn't get to actually pick any apples.  That probably was a blessing in disguise with our crew.  Our boys were very content with the hay ride, playground, apple cider slushy, and fresh hot donuts (which were unexpectedly the best donuts I've ever had).  We had a great time, and still walked away with a large bag of the most delicious fresh apples.

Because we knew we were going to the apple orchard, we opted to keep our pumpkin pickin' simple again this year, and bought pumpkins from a local church that sells pumpkins each year as a fund raiser.  Our boys were just as excited to "pick" their pumpkin there.
