We carved our pumpkin on Halloween while the baby napped. The Biscuit helped a bit, but Bean wanted nothing to do with it. That is very fitting since the Bean can't stand have his hands dirty at all, and we have to force the Biscuit to wash his hands and face every time we turn around.
Our five year old said he wanted to be a space man for Halloween. Bean is very into rocket ships right now, so he was eager to go with that. I decided the Bug would be an alien, just to complete the theme. We made their costumes, but they weren't finished in time for the Halloween carnival we went to two weeks earlier. For that, we used some old costumes from previous years. Unfortunately, after wearing the fill-in puppy dog costume at the carnival, the Bean refused to be the rocket ship. He was adamant that he wanted to be a dog. So we will pretend he was a space dog. Just don't tell him that.
The boys had a blast trick-or-treating this year. Biscuit ran to each house yelling "trick-or-treat" before he even got to the door, his space helmet bouncing up and down the entire time. No one was afraid, and no one had a meltdown. Even the Bug was a trooper in his padded alien suit, and just hung out in the stroller while his big brothers racked up the candy. It was heavenly.
